Our Teaching Style

Lessons are taught by experienced qualified teachers who inspire and support our pupils to thrive.

At Teign Valley Dance Academy we always encourage and motivate pupils with positive feedback boosting their confidence and self esteem.

Organised classes of 30 to 45 minutes means your child has time to develop strong skills and technique without filling all of their free time.

Parents are always permitted to watch the classes, so that you can be part of your dancers incredible journey, and see your child's progress and improvement.

We provide a positive and caring environment to help each student fulfill their own potential whilst developing their dance technique, co-ordination, musicality and confidence.

Bernie Cavanagh

Principal, teacher and choreographer.

Bernie Cavanagh is an ex-professional dancer and qualified dance teacher having gained her DDI teachers qualification in Ballet, Modern and Tap with the International Society of Teachers of Dancing. She has over 15 years of teaching experience, teaching in dance schools in Devon and Cornwall before setting up Teign Valley Dance Academy in 2012.

Miss Bernie has a passion and love for dance which she shares with her pupils, teaching in a patient and friendly manner in a safe and secure environment.
